Today it is a year ago we lost Dmitri Smirnov to covid19. He was among the most important composers of his generation and a warm and inspiring person. We were lucky to work with him during August 2019, when we performed several of his works including his 2nd piano trio.

This trio has a special importance to Rudersdal Chamber Players since it is partly the reason for creating the ensemble.

Lera Auerbach visited Rudersdal Sommerkoncerter in 2017 and she and her husband saw the need for a flexible high-level ensemble in residence. In 2018 the chamber players became a reality and since then the festival composers have got a more substantial presentation with far more works being performed.

We are looking very much forward play the wonderful trio at some of our upcoming concerts in the spring.
